Kasey’s Recipe for a Sweet & Safe Chico

Reduce Cost of Living – Chico families are paying too much. I’ll fight higher taxes and fee, cut unnecessary red tape and make city hall work for taxpayers, not against them.

Solving our Homeless Crisis – Compassion means connecting people with shelter and services, not allowing or parks and public spaces to become encampments. Services should be offered to individuals suffering from addiction and mental health issues. However, criminal behavior should not be tolerated. I have supported and will continue to support ordinances that make it uncomfortable to live in our public spaces and prey on the generosity of our community.

Protecting our Neighborhoods – Public safety is and has always been my first priority, I will always stand with law enforcement. I am happy to confirm the Chico Police Department hired 26 new employees last year alone. Protecting our neighborhoods also means supporting our fire department and giving them the tools to be successful. The Chico Fire Department has added a second engine to serve downtown which added three crew members. By doing this we were able to strengthen emergency response and continue protecting our community.

Continue Fixing our Roads – Since 2020, we have budgeted over $300 million towards local roads and have 13 major projects planned for this year. I firmly believe Chico deserves the best roads in the region, and I won’t stop working until we get there.
